Peanut Lab accepting concept notes for projects

The Peanut Lab is calling for concept notes in two Areas of Inquiry: varietal development and value-added gains.
This is the first project proposals accepted by the program, which won a five-year award from USAID in January.

Obama Foundation Scholars: New scholarship covers masters in international development at University of Chicago for students from around the world.

USAID higher ed grant: The U.S. Global Development Lab is seeking concept notes for innovative approaches that propose new ways to advance scientific, technological, and innovation capacity in low- and middle-income countries through the higher-ed system.

EU scholarship for African students: The Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Project: Partnership for Training Scientist in Crop Improvement for Food Security in Africa (SCIFSA) is taking scholarship applications to study in one of five African universities.

Mallikarjunan recognized for PMIL work: Peanut & Mycotoxin Innovation Lab scientist Kumar Mallikarjunan was honored by the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT). The awards recognize IFT members for remarkable contributions in research, applications, and service in the food science and technology industry.
 

Events

50th Annual American Peanut Research and Education Society meeting is scheduled for July 10-12 in Williamsburg, Va. Visit the APRES website to learn how to submit abstracts for posters or presentations, as well as how to register and where to stay.
