A Stewardship Moment
The week of March 22nd,Transformation Sunday, is an important week in the life of our church.  Our congregation will make a decision as to how much of God's gift to them they will return to carry out His work locally, statewide and beyond.
It is my hope that all of us will realize how good it makes you feel to contribute to the operation of the church and it's mission work, which is going very well now even though there is so much more we could be doing.
We have an excellent Christian Education program for both youth and adults. Our support of Interfaith Hospitality Network, which provides a place for those in need to get back on their feet  is something we can all feel proud of.  Our contributions to the food bank is a real blessing to those who are hungry and our gifts to the Disciples Mission Fund is a blessing felt all around the world.
Sunday March 22nd we will have a combined worship service at 11am followed by a luncheon in fellowship hall.  The church will provide the meat for this meal, and we are asking the congregation to bring cold salads, desserts and bread (rolls) for the meal and leave them in the kitchen before the 11:00 am service.
"From Bread and Wine to Faith and Giving", the theme for this year’s campaign, is a perfect way to return to God a portion of that which he has so generously given to each of us. As Christians this is an important part of our belief and teachings and it should be a very joyous time in our worship experience.
On Sunday, March 22nd, there will be a special time during the worship service for us to submit our Estimate of Giving cards and have them blessed. Please prayerfully consider the amount you will contribute to God's work here at First Christian Church.  Remember, God loves a cheerful giver.
In Christ

Camp Caroline Work-Day May 2 The Camp has small-large work needs including a chainsaw and anyone with a log splitter to help clean-up some downed trees, electrical and plumbing needs for specifically gifted folks in those areas, and if you are a drywall specialist they have a need for your help! If the weather permits they are hoping to get Ward Hall Painted and the Pool House painted, too.
Thanks to your generous support our Week of Compassion offering amounted to $4,666.94.  Compared  to the $3,137.45 that was received last year this is a sizable increase.  As you know, it will be wisely distributed to those in need. World Outreach Team
Church Yard and Plant Sale
Time to do your spring cleaning, to divide your plants, do some downsizing?  Don't know what to do with the extras?  Not to worry.  The CACS team will hold a church-wide yard sale on Saturday, April 18th from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm open to the public.  Please drop off your items starting on Monday, April 13th but not before.  (We will be hosting the Interfaith families and have no storage space before April 13th)  Most any item is welcome but please NO electronics to include NO TVs, computers, computer monitors or related computer items (printers, scanners, etc.)  We will be accepting potted plants as well.  All monies will be used to support local outreach and related church programs.  Anyone who can help during the below hours, please let Ann Boston, Ellie Duckett or Chris Furr know. We especially need help with set up on Friday and Saturday sale. Another opportunity for us to receive, give, and receive.

Large Print Hymnals Available
We now have six copies of large print hymnals available for use by the congregation.  Please feel free to pick one up in the parlor before the service. We ask that you return these hymnals to the parlor after you finish using them so others know where to find them as well.

Interfaith Guests Coming Soon
Our Interfaith guests will be with us from Sunday, April 5th (Easter Sunday) until Sunday, April 12th.  We need your help with hosting the families on Saturday, April 11th (8am-5pm) and Sunday, April 12th (8am-4pm) so a couple of hours spent by a few will help immensely.  We also could use help with the dinner on Saturday, April 11th.  There may be other tasks that need to be filled - we will keep you posted.  To volunteer or for more information about this wonderful opportunity to help those in crisis, please contact Millie Griffin, Ann Boston or Ellie Duckett.
