The Expert Panel is responsible for making decisions for funding requests in the three program components, based on their assessment of the legal issues, the community needs and the objectives and guidelines of the program. Members of the Panel are appointed by the Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages but they are independent of the Minister. The Panel consists of lawyers, members of the Francophone and Acadian minority communities, members of the English-speaking minority communities and an expert on alternative dispute resolution.

TWO NEW MEMBERS TO THE LRSP EXPERT PANEL

The LRSP is pleased to welcome two new members who will bring great expertise to the Panel: Mr Paul Ronald McKenna is a partner at Myers Weinberg LLP, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, he is appointed as a member with legal expertise. Mr Paul Emile LeBlanc is the current Director General of the Caisse populaire in Clare, Nova Scotia, he is appointed as a representative of the Francophone and Acadian communities.
The LRSP would like to warmly thank the three outgoing members, Mr JL Gilles LeVasseur, Mr Ali Chaisson and Mr David Dandeneau for their outstanding contributions to the Expert Panel, for the past four years.
