RÜCKBLICK 2021: MOTIVATION FÜR DIE ZUKUNFT

Wenn wir nach langer Planung ein Projekt fertigstellen, schwingt immer etwas Wehmut mit. Denn jedes Mal ist viel Herzblut im Spiel und wir fühlen uns mit den Beteiligten auf besondere Weise verbunden. Dieses Jahr gab es häufiger Anlass, ein bisschen wehmütig zu sein, aber auch mit großer Freude außergewöhnliche Projekte zu übergeben. Für uns immer ein Glücksgefühl und eine Motivation für zukünftige Aufgaben!

Mit der Düsseldorfer TWT Group, der Birkenstock Group und der List Gruppe in Nordhorn und Bielefeld entstanden 2021 jeweils neue Headquarter für agile Teamarbeit in einem einzigartigen Ambiente. Auch für die Coworking-Anbieter Ruby und Design Offices konnten wir individuelle Bürowelten realisieren. Um gemeinschaftliches Wohnen ging es dagegen bei der Terragon Residenz in Ahrensburg und beim Interior Design für HVNS in Hamburg. Dort steht auch das Max-Planck-Institut, dessen öffentliche Bereiche von uns mit hoher Gestaltungs- und Aufenthaltsqualität modernisiert wurden. Ähnlich repräsentativ ist der neue Welcome Space für die Kölner Verwaltung von Rewe sowie deren Lounge in der Lanxess Arena. In die gleiche Kategorie Event fällt das großartige ESTREL Auditorium in Berlin, das unser minimalistisches Interior Design mit neuester Hightech-Ausstattung verbindet (vielen Dank an Ekkehard und Maxim Streletzki für über 20 Jahre Vertrauen und erfolgreiche Zusammenarbeit). 

Besonders gefreut haben wir uns über die diesjährigen Auszeichnungen unserer Projekte. Das Headquarter für die TWT Group hat beim Iconic Award 2021 gleich in zwei Kategorien überzeugt und wurde zudem für Best Workspaces 2022 nominiert – dem ersten internationalen Architekturpreis für intelligente Arbeitswelten. Eine Auszeichnung gab es auch für das Hamburger Max-Planck-Institut, das beim German Design Award 2022 erfolgreich war.

Gewürdigt wurde unsere Projektarbeit dieses Jahr wieder in verschiedenen Publikationen – ob im bdia Handbuch 2021/2022, in zwei Neuerscheinungen zu Arztpraxen und Exhibition Design oder in Fachzeitschriften wie AIT. Spannend war für uns der Beitrag für den Band Office Pioneers, in dem Experten aus unterschiedlichen Bereichen darüber nachdenken, wie Büros und Büroarbeit im Jahr 2030 aussehen könnten.

Wir lieben das persönliche Netzwerken. Umso größer war unsere Freude, auf der diesjährigen architect@work gleich zwei Vorträge halten zu können. Der direkte Austausch mit dem Publikum in Düsseldorf und Hamburg tat einfach gut! Auch online haben wir uns ausgetauscht, unter anderem bei einem Webtalk der Co-Living-Community Apartment oder in einem Podcast mit dem Souveränitäts-Coach Theo Bergauer.

Ein besonders herzlicher Dank gilt unserem tollen Team, das sich mit jeder Aufgabe weiterentwickelt. Gemeinsam arbeiten wir aktuell an Projekten für die List AG und die Luxusmarke Montblanc. Außerdem gestalten wir Wohnkonzepte für HVNS in Berlin und Frankfurt am Main sowie eine Betriebsgastronomie für MTU mit RKW Architektur +. Das Thema Healthcare beschäftigt uns zurzeit bei Planungen für das Klinikum Warendorff und den Klinikverbund Gesundheit Nord. Neben einigen privaten Wohnprojekten werden wir 2022 auch das neue IT-Gebäude für die weltweit tätige Coroplast Group, die Transformation des alten Lokschuppens in Marburg sowie Projekte für Mediabrands in Hamburg und Frankfurt begleiten.

In der Adventszeit möchten wir auch wieder auf die Karl Bröcker Stiftung aufmerksam machen. Seit 2002 engagieren wir uns bei der Stiftung mit dem Leitspruch „Zukunft für Kinder“. Mit großem Stolz erfüllt uns daher die diesjährige Eröffnung des Renate Bröcker Jugendzentrums in Geseke, das maßgeblich von der Stiftung finanziert wurde. Anstelle von Geschenken werden wir auch in diesem Jahr wieder spenden und möchten Sie ebenso dazu einladen. Jede Spende wird zu hundert Prozent in Projekte für hilfsbedürftige Kinder und Jugendliche investiert.

REVIEW 2021: MOTIVATION FOR THE FUTURE

Every time we complete a project after a long time of planning, this leaves us with a sense of melancholy, because we always put our heart and soul into the project and feel a special connection with the people involved. This year, there were frequent occasions to be a little heavy-hearted, but also to hand over extraordinary projects with great joy. For us, this is always a moment of happiness and motivation for future tasks!

In 2021, we created new headquarters for agile teamwork in a unique ambience for the TWT Group in Düsseldorf, the Birkenstock Group and the List Group in Nordhorn and Bielefeld. We were also able to implement individual office environments for the coworking providers Ruby and Design Offices. The Terragon Residence in Ahrensburg and the interior design for HVNS in Hamburg, on the other hand, were all about communal living. For the Max Planck Institute, also located in Hamburg, we modernised the public areas with a high design and interior quality. The new Welcome Space for the Rewe administration in Cologne and their lounge in the Lanxess Arena exude a likewise prestigious atmosphere. The magnificent ESTREL Auditorium in Berlin, which combines our minimalist interior design with state-of-the-art high-tech equipment, also belongs to the event category (we have been working for ESTREL for over 20 years now and would like to thank Ekkehard and Maxim Streletzki for their trust).

We were particularly pleased about the awards we received for our projects this year. The TWT Group Headquarters won in two categories at the Iconic Award 2021 and was also nominated for Best Workspaces 2022, the first international architecture prize for intelligent working environments. We also received an award for the Max Planck Institute in Hamburg at the German Design Award 2022.

Our project work was again acknowledged in various publications, including the bdia Handbook 2021/2022, two new publications on medical practices and exhibition design and trade journals such as AIT. The contribution for the volume entitled Office Pioneers, in which experts from different fields reflect on what offices and office work could look like in 2030, was exciting for us.

We love personal networking and were therefore all the more pleased to be able to give two lectures at this year’s architect@work events. The direct exchange with the audience in Düsseldorf and Hamburg simply did us the world of good! We also exchanged ideas online, for example at a webtalk of the Apartment co-living community or in a podcast with confidence coach Theo Bergauer.

A special thanks goes to our great team, which keeps developing with every task. We are currently working on projects for List AG and the luxury brand Montblanc. We are also designing residential concepts for HVNS in Berlin and Frankfurt am Main as well as a staff restaurant for MTU with RKW Architektur +. In the field of healthcare, we are currently occupied with planning for the Warendorff Clinic and the Gesundheit Nord clinic association. In addition to several private residential projects, we will also be involved in the new IT building for the globally active Coroplast Group, the transformation of the old locomotive shed in Marburg and projects for Mediabrands in Hamburg and Frankfurt in 2022.

In the Advent season, we would like to once again draw attention to the Karl Bröcker Foundation. Since 2002, we have been involved with the foundation based on the motto "Future for Children". We are therefore very proud of this year’s opening of the Renate Bröcker Youth Centre in Geseke, which was largely funded by the foundation. Instead of giving presents, we will again make a donation this year and would like to invite you to do the same. One hundred percent of every donation will be invested in projects for children and young people in need.
