I’m finally able to let you all know that I have a buyer for Laurena’s Longarm Quilting. She and I have been on pins and needles waiting for our arrangements to progress to the point where we could make our news official and public.
The new owner is Louise Rains. Louise began piecing quilts in 2000 and moved to Billerica in 2002. After mailing quilt tops off to friends for quilting, she started to investigate doing longarm quilting herself, and stumbled serendipitously on Laurena’s studio. She took the introductory class in 2009, and has been a steady customer since then, quilting everything from wall hangings to king size quilts. She purchased the business so that “we can all have a place and time to do our quilting thing”! She is excited to get to know all of you and to work with you to complete your beautiful quilts. Stay tuned for her ideas to nurture and grow our wonderful community.
We plan to hold our closing later this week and at that point you will be getting all the information about services, schedules and other important information.
I will be moving back into corporate America. I am returning to Fraen Corporation in Reading, MA. I have worked for this company in the past for many years and it really feels as if I’ll be going home. I will enjoy the challenges of the manufacturing world that were a part of my 20’s and 30’s.
I wish to thank each of you from the bottom of my heart for your friendship and patronage. Your well wishes have warmed my heart and let me know how truly I will miss working together on your beautiful quilts. I do plan to remain part of the local quilting world through my guild memberships, quilt show attendance and quilt shop patronage. I hope to connect with many of you in these wonderful quilting environments.
