Election Results Are In...

 

Dear Members and Friends of the OSSD,
I am very pleased to announce the winners of our recent elections. Dr. Sabra Klein is our new President-Elect.  Drs. Liisa Galea, C. Neill Epperson and Judith Lichtman are our new Council Members, and Dr. Kristen Pleil is our newest Young Investigator Council Member.  A very warm congratulations to all!  Thanks to our members who voted and a very special thank you to our members who were candidates for this year's election.

Our 2016 meeting in Philadelphia is coming together nicely under the leadership of our Program Committee Chair, Dr. Kathryn Sandberg, and our Local Hosts, Drs. Tracy Bale and C. Neill Epperson. OSSD 2016 will take place May 24-26th, 2016 at the University of Pennsylvania with a special pre-meeting reception on May 23rd including a Plenary Lecture by Dr. Eric Nestler. Topics to be covered at this year's meeting include sex differences in human embryo development, neural and glial function, cancer, learning and memory, metabolic disease, neural circuits and behavior, cardiovascular function, stress, bones and joints, smoking behavior, gut-brain connections and sensorimotor control. Our journal, Biology of Sex Differences, received an impact factor of 4.84 this year! To mark this accomplishment our Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Art Arnold, was interviewed in the blog On Biology that offers insight and opinions from Biomed Central.  Click here to read his interview.
