CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting Qualification

With the continued aim of supporting the SME community in DLR, we are delighted to partner with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) to offer a 17% discount on the Certificate in Business Accounting Qualification in a highly flexible format. This is a unique offering to SME companies and their employees in DLR and is the first time CIMA has partnered with a support agency globally to provide this incentive to raise the skills of its SME population.

Many SME owners do not have good financial literacy, lacking the skills and confidence to make important business decisions that will impact them and their company. This is a practical and broad course aimed at owner managers/key employees of SMEs who want to learn best practice in the areas of:

  • Business Economics
  • Management Accounting
  • Financial Accounting
  • Fundamentals of Ethics, Corporate Governance and Business Law

On successful completion of the four subject examinations, students are awarded the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting, and can use the designatory letters CIMA Cert BA after their name.

Food Starter Programme 14th & 28th June 2019

This ‘Food Starter programme’ is a short two day programme designed to help those with a food idea, or those at a very early stage of starting up a food business (typically the first 24 months). The objective of the 2 days is to provide the participants with a base knowledge of what is involved in setting up a food business.

The content is designed to provide you with information which will allow you to avoid the pit falls normally associated with this journey. While certain aspects of the programme are relevant to those setting up cafes/restaurants, the core programme content is designed for those producing food to be sold through third parties i.e. food producers.

For those considering applying for the Food Academy Programme in the future, this programme will provide an excellent opportunity to boost your chances of securing a place.
