Tomorrow: Visit to Indeed Brewing Company

This Wednesday, we’ll be paying a visit to our friends at Indeed Brewing Company. Indeed began in Minneapolis and recently opened their new Taproom at 530 South 2nd Street in our very own Walkers Point neighborhood.

All of the beers we’ll be sampling are Milwaukee-only pilot batches (no repeats from our last Indeed night in February!). We will also hear more about Indeed’s brewing process and plans for the future.

Last but not least, 100% of the net proceeds from our visit will go to a local non-profit as part of the Indeed We Can program.

Great beer and a great cause...Hope to see you there!

Recap: Belgian Beers

Last week, we sampled a variety of Belgian beers and had the chance to compare some classics from Belgium to Belgian-style offerings brewed here in the US. In the end, the winner of the vote was La Trappe Quad, one of eleven Trappist beers and brewed by Trappist monks in...the Netherlands. Close enough!

Next week: Coffee Beers

Next week’s meeting will be another one of our most popular nights as we celebrate the combination of our 2 favorite brews: beer and coffee. While most coffee beers tend to be darker in color and complement the sweet, roasty flavor profiles of stouts and porters, there may be a few other style examples mixed in. Join us to try them all and find a new favorite.

We’ll be posting the final beer list and other details soon!

Beer News and Events

The 2019 Festival of Wood and Barrel-Aged Beer (FoBAB) took place in Chicago last weekend, and we’re proud to see 2 local breweries bring home some medals! In the Wild Beer/Brett category, Hacienda’s L’hiver (blend 2) took home silver. And in the Wild Beer (Sour) category, MobCraft’s Sour Golden Ale earned the gold!

FoBAB is North America's largest and most prestigious barrel-aged beer festival and competition. This past weekend, more than 200 craft breweries from coast to coast poured nearly 400 of their rarest, most exclusive wood and barrel-aged beer, with every beer at the festival and competition having been aged in a wooden barrel or having come into contact with wood.

If you missed last weekend’s festival, be sure to look for tickets to next year’s event!

Throughout November, Good City will be hosting a food drive through Feeding America at their East Side location. Bring some canned goods that are listed on their event page and your first beer is free!
