                                                                       "Haunted Heart"

Recently I have been making some smaller pieces. This one is called “Haunted Heart” . This is a whole cloth textile painting. The image is quilted on a piece of African fabric. If you would like more information, in addition to seeing some of the other new pieces I have recently made, click here.

Two of my quilts have been accepted into the International Quilt Festival in Houston, TX. This show takes place October 24 to 26, 2015.

"Jimmy Carter - Ambassador of Peace" is in the "Southern Accents" show at the Ruth Funk Center for Textile Arts in Melbourne, Florida from May 16 to August 31, 2015.

The online registration is open for the International Quilt Festival in Houston, TX. Click on the link to register for my classes.
I hope you will join me!

I will be teaching
Let’s Talk Quilting twice during the week. This class is for anyone who has made a quilt and would like input on how to quilt it. We will put your tops up on the wall one after another and talk about how to quilt them. Each student will go home with at least three different ideas of how to quilt the top they have brought to class.
It is a fun and inspiring day!

Monday 10/26: Let’s Talk Quilting - Event #114
Wednesday 10/29: Let’s Talk Quilting - Event #414

I will also be teaching Painting Images With Dyes twice during the week. This is a very popular class because you learn to paint subject you want! We go over the basics of how to dye-paint and you go home with a small painted.

Tuesday 10/27: Painting Images With Dyes - Event #212
Friday 10/30: Painting Images With Dyes - Event #515

                                                       Dye-painting in Baltimore, MD.
Upcycle Your Jeans into Art is for the student who has lots of blue jeans and doesn’t know what to do with them! This is a laid back and enjoyable class where we make a small flower quilt using blue jeans. The idea is to learn the “Sew It’s Denim” technique which is raw edge and super easy.

Thursday 10/28: Upcycle Your Jeans into Art - Event #311

Quilt made by Laura Metz in class.
