Wishing you all the best for this holiday season.

"Upcycle Your Jeans Into Art" class

Wonderful students attended my classes in Houston and we all had a great time. My new class “Studio Secrets” was a success and I will be posting new clips on YouTube soon.

This is what I painted and quilted in the "Studio Secrets" class in Houston

I would especially like to highlight a new drawing series I will be offering in Durham, NC March 5, 6, and 7th, 2017. This is the first class in a 3-year series. Students come to a 3-day class once a year for three years.
I love to teach drawing and have been teaching these classes for over 25 years. I can guarantee that if you want to learn to draw, I can teach you!!

Here’s some information about what we will be learning:
Year #1: Drawing 1 - We cover line, light and shadow, perspective, and negative space. Three day class.

Year #2 : Drawing 2 - We cover light and shadow, perspective, negative space, and gesture drawing. Three day class.

Year #3: Portraiture - We draw from live models in addition to photographs and drawings from the Masters. Three day class.

If you are interested in more information about taking this series, please email me.

I hope you will join me in one of my classes in 2017!
I have a busy teaching schedule and will be teaching in Texas, North Carolina, New York, Oregon, and Canada.
I invite you to visit my website to see my schedule and sign up for one of my classes.

My Life

My mother was placed in hospice in November. I left Houston early and canceled my teaching trip to Washington state to be with her.

Merry Lou was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian cancer in October 2012 and has beaten all the odds.
Our family surrounded her and she was able to vote on November 8th and we all celebrated her 84th birthday November 16th.

“Art makes you laugh, and cry, and get pissed off, and think.”
This is why art makes the perfect gift!

Please check out my store for original art, prints, and supplies, or go to Fine Art America where you can find phone cases, bags, notecards, pillows, shower curtains and other products.
Please feel free to send this newsletter to friends or go to  for more information on a regular basis along with lots more photos. Thank you for reading all the way to the end!
