I have reduced my teaching schedule to have more time in my studio in 2017. The venues where I will teach are just the best! I hope you will join me at one of these venues.

Hudson River Valley Art Workshop - Greenville, NY, April 24-28
This delightful B&B is the only place I will teach my 5-day Dye- painting/Quilting workshop in 2017. Mark and Kim serve delicious food and, more studio hours are offered to students than anywhere else!

As I said earlier, this will be a year of creativity for me. I will be showing an entire new body of work at the Virginia Quilt Museum February 6 - May 12, 2018.
I’m honored to be invited to exhibit my work in the African American Quilt Convention in Lawrence, Kansas July 12-15, 2017. The entire town will be showing quilts within the same theme. My work will be shown at the Lawrence Art Center. This will be an amazing week!

My Life

My mother Merry Lou Foster Shaw passed away December 27, 2016 surrounded by her family.
She was a person who lived on her own terms, and inspired others with her character and determination. She fought her whole life for women’s equality and education.
Her commitment and actions certainly shaped my life.
She was a force.
