Canmore Real Estate Newsletter August 2017

Canmore and Banff Enjoying a Strong Summer

Along with summer comes an influx of tourists looking to enjoy our beautiful town and amazing activities that the mountains afford us.  We just had the 40th Annual Folk Music Festival which was another grand success wrapping up with Bruce Cockburn.

The Real Estate Market continues to be very active and we have seen a small rise to our listing inventory moving us to more of a balanced market.  Buyers are still excited to be entering the Canmore market but continue to be very price aware.  We are still hovering at just over 200 total listings on the market which is quite low considering the high listing mark over 500 listings.

Over the first 7 months of 2017 we have seen sales increase 7% over the 7 months of 2016.  We are expecting steady to strong sales moving through the rest of summer and into fall.

Lastly, we are here to help you or anyone you know for all your real estate needs.  We are never too busy for your referrals, and remember to Like our Facebook page to stay updated with all of our new listings!

YWCA WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES® presented by Shoppers Drug Mart

This is an annual event which raises funds, friends and awareness for the YWCA’s work to prevent intimate partner violence and promote healthy relationships in the Bow Valley.

This lighthearted event asks men to take a stand against violence by strapping on a pair of high heel shoes and walking down Main Street in Canmore.

Walk A Mile 2017 will be held at the CANMORE CIVIC CENTRE on Friday, September 15, 2017.

Royal LePage Rocky Mountain Realty is putting in a team for this event and would appreciate any donations for this worthy cause, please see the Donate at link below.
Please help us raise the funds and awareness for our work towards preventing domestic violence in the Bow Valley.

How will my contributions be used?

Walk A Mile In Her Shoes is essential in reaching our annual fundraising goals to help us meet the service needs of our community. All of our services are free of charge, professional and confidential, and are accessible to all Bow Valley residents.
Funds raised from Walk A Mile directly support the YWCA’s work to stop violence in our community. Your fundraising efforts and donations will directly support these essential programs and services offered throughout the entire Bow Valley.

Starting April 28, 2017, purchase any eligible energy-efficient refrigeratorclothes washer, or smart thermostat and then use the application available on-line at https://www.efficiencyalberta.ca/online-rebates/ and upload your receipt. A rebate cheque will be issued in six to eight weeks.

These rebates are helping to make energy-efficient appliances more affordable for Albertans. And, once you’ve purchased an energy-efficient refrigerator, clothes washer, or smart thermostat, you’ll immediately begin to save money on your energy bills too.

There is a limit of two products, per category, per address. But don’t let that stop you—check out the eligible products, and start saving.

There are also Home Improvement Rebates: Work with a participating Alberta contractor to increase your at-home energy efficiency with improved insulation, upgraded windows and tankless water heaters—all at a great discount.

The more energy your home-improvement project saves, the more money you’ll get back in rebates—that’s the promise of Energy Efficiency Alberta’s Home Improvement Rebate program’s performance-based rebates.

We recommend getting at least three quotes from registered contractors, who will be able to provide more details and an estimate of your rebate based on your home’s existing insulation, windows, and hot water heater.

To help you protect yourself from illegal or predatory business practices, we’ve put together some tips on how to stay safe. Go to https://www.efficiencyalberta.ca/consumer-protection/ for more information.
