Thank you Citizens Bank of Edmond for being a corporate and community partner for public education!  We are looking forward to the 2022 season of Heard on Hurd!

Several Edmond Public Schools educators are featured as part of the "Ask Edmond" section in the November issue of Edmond Outlook Magazine.  They describe why community #ONEEDMOND donations matter and how they make a difference for students!  Read more in this month's issue!

The average donation by an EPS employee is $10 a month.  Will you match them with a recurring monthly $10 or one-time $100 donation?  Match Edmond Public Schools educators and staff HERE

The EPS Foundation has set a 5-year goal to raise 2.7 million dollars for strategic needs in our schools including:  DonorsChoose, Art in Schools, mental health and student support, educator professional development and the Celebration of Excellence.

Congratulations again to the inductees Linda Slawson, Tom Snider and Bret Towne.  We also honored the 2020 and 2021 Volunteers of the Year, Miriam Teifke and Sarah Lucas.

Students from Edmond Public Schools high schools helped us celebrate including Edmond North Orchestra, Edmond Santa Fe Jazz Ensemble, Edmond Memorial Act II, FACS students from all three schools, Edmond North students, and of course, our EPSF Student Ambassadors!  Because of you, we raised over $100,000 for public education in Edmond, including some new endowed funds!

Several big announcements were made about the Celebration of Excellence!  Bret and Nancy Towne announced they will ensure the Rookie of the Year award they founded is endowed with a pledge of an additional $10,000.  The Despain family stepped up to endow the Support Employee of the Year award in honor of Kathi DeSpain with a pledge of $20,000!  The room followed their example and committed another $10,000 to start the path towards endowing Teacher of the Year.  If you are interested in helping us reach the $20,000 needed to create the Teacher of the Year endowed fund, please donate here.

OCTOBER MEETING

At this month’s meeting, Tami Shaw, Elizabeth Ging and Tara Peterson visited from Edmond Public Schools. They talked to us about the importance of Professional Development days for our educators and how these classes give an opportunity for teachers to collaborate with each other. They brought feeling buddies used in elementary schools, which are little dolls that express emotions and talked about DonorsChoose. Shannon Price also visited from the Edmond Fine Arts Institute to talk to us about the importance of the arts program throughout our schools.

HALL OF FAME

On Thursday October 21st, we volunteered at the annual Hall of Fame fundraising event. This year,  Bret Towne, Linda Slawson and Tom Snider were inducted. We also got to participate in the live auction and sold our original painting for $1,600 to support Arts in Schools!

RED DAY RUN

Keller Williams Realty has an annual day of service called RED day. On this day, associates are encouraged to take the day off and serve the community. For the past 6 years, The RED day run has been held to raise money for local charities and is now Edmond’s largest charitable 5 kilometer race. It was held this year on Oct. 23 in downtown Edmond consisting of both an in-person and a virtual option. The Edmond Public Schools Foundation was also a beneficiary of this event, and so we are happy to say that we had many EPSF Student Ambassadors and EPS students & staff who participated in the Red Day Run. In addition, there were a total of 1,564 runners, walkers, and participants this year which is a record-breaking number! The total amount raised was $220,000, with $33,000 of that being donated to the Edmond Public Schools Foundation!
