NEW CLUB HOUSE IN SIGHT
Well, after three years of hard work we’ve finally got there and its exciting that the real work can now get underway.
Approval came through from the KCDC for our resource consent and we can finally get on with the next steps of finalising working drawings, costings, and fundraising.
Thank you all for your patience as we’ve picked our way through what proved to be a long and complicated process and special thanks to Graham and Framo for a sterling effort to get us over the line.
The consent allows us to:
- build a new toilet block on the corner of Waimea Road to replace the current toilet block which will become the new club tractor and surf club sheds.
- construct a new and separate Coastguard base adjacent to the new toilet block
- proceed to working drawings for the main clubrooms which, when completed, will feature at an Open Day for members.
A Special General Meeting will be held in a few months time to approve the working drawings, costings and a fundraising plan.
Thanks again for the support you have consistently given to replacing our 50-year-old clubhouse with a more spacious and modern “home”.

Mid Winter Swim
Although the weather didn't play its part with a cold southerly and crashing waves, four brave souls managed to participate in our Mid-Winter swim.
Coastguard kept warm on the BBQ serving up hot sausages for everyone while fundraising for a great cause.
