WAIKANAE BOATING CLUB REBUILD
After three long frustrating years, as you know, we have now gained resource consent for our
rebuild, we move into phase two of the project.
We are working towards final plans for the toilet block and the Coastguard shed, and the cost to
build this stage.
A building committee is being set up under Brian Frampton’s eagle eye to move forward on this.
Under the format for our rebuild laid out by Council, we need to appoint a ‘Clerk of Works’ to
oversee the build process.
Along with all of this, a finance and fundraising committee is being set up under Commodore
Peter’s watch for us to be able to finance the project.
Once we receive some costings for the plans the Committee will seek authority from a Special
General Meeting to proceed any further with the rebuild, and present a Funding Plan for the
project.
If you, as a club member, have particular skills in the build process, or fundraising and finance,
and would be keen to put a ‘shoulder to the wheel’ we would love to hear from you.
Please call Graham, Peter, or Hannah.
