august updates

It's been a while since I sent out one of these newsletters, so I'll start with the big news.

I have an agent!!!

In April of this year, I was lucky enough to sign with a literary agent! I'm now represented by Dan Lazar at Writers House for all book-related work!
Dan was actually my first choice out of the agents I submitted to... I was freaking out. He replied to my query right away (something I really like about him, he always replies fast) and was interested in my work!

Getting a literary agent has been a goal I've been working towards for the past three years, so I'M SO HAPPY!!!!!

We're working together now on getting my middle-grade graphic novel, Rabbit Physician, ready to pitch to publishers!

updates on various projects

free comic lesson plan for educators!

If you joined this newsletter because I posted about this on instagram... thank you so much for being interested in my work!! 😍

I've added a new free lesson plan on my website for comics, art, and literacy teachers to use! The lesson plan includes a sample page, script worksheet, and comic panel template for you to print out for your students or kids.

Intersections in Art

My art was recently featured in an online exhibition featuring Asian artists, curated by Yang Lim! Grey Street Media Group made a cool little reel on instagram with me talking about my art.

I'm awkward on camera haha... watch if you dare...

summer art workshops!

I'm back at the Burnaby Public Library this summer, teaching a series of art workshops for teens!

This library has amazing resources for teens - the library recently got a set of iPads, and we've been able to use them to teach participants how to use Procreate to draw anime!

Here's the participants' work from last week's workshop, Drawing Chibis!!
