The Garland County Library is proudly expanding its home delivery services, effective immediately. Through this service, the library will deliver books, DVDs, and other items as requested directly to one’s door. Items are delivered to Hot Springs Village area residents weekly on Tuesdays, and residents in the Piney and Lake Hamilton School District areas weekly on Wednesdays.
Deliveries can be expected between 10am and 2pm on their respective day, dependent on the number of stops. Any item available on a user’s account by the morning of can be brought out for delivery. Items can be left on the front porch or in another designated spot if requested. Returns can also be left out for the driver to take back to the library. All active library users will be approved to enroll in this service as long as they live within the appropriate driving range. The Tuesday service area includes both the Garland and Saline sides of Hot Springs Village, as well as those living nearby that are just outside of the main gates. The Wednesday service area includes the Piney, Rockwell, Pleasant Hill, and Pearcy communities, including those that live close to Lake Hamilton School or National Park College.
To enroll in deliveries, users simply need to contact the library’s Outreach Clerk, James Nowlin, who will be the primary vehicle driver and organizer for these deliveries. As stated by Nowlin in a previous press release, “Being able to provide service to folks throughout the county, even the far reaches, is important to fulfilling the Library’s mission. Not only will I bring you your books and DVDs, I’ll take donations that are purposefully left on your front porch to bring back to the Library.” James Nowlin can be contacted by email at jnowlin@gclibrary.com, or by contacting desk line 501-881-4435. If any other accommodations are needed, the library will try to work with patrons as much as possible.
