The library will begin new operating hours starting the week of November 8th lasting at least through the duration of the pandemic. Library administration will reevaluate operating hours in the future. Any feedback about the library's hours can be submitted to gcl@gclibrary.com or here. 
Learn about the importance of American Sign Language (ASL), as well as some basic signs, with interpreter Eddie Schmeckenbecher. 

Eddie Schmeckenbecher was born and raised in Little Rock, AR and is the current “Student and Family Support Services” director at the Arkansas School for the Deaf. He has been interpreting for 48 years, and has been Governor Asa Hutchinson's press conference interpreter for the past 3 years. Eddie is married to Melissa and has one son, Cameron, 26 years old.

Program will be live streamed via Facebook Live on the library's Facebook page. Audience questions are encouraged.
Submit a photo of your tattoo, and we'll suggest a book for you to read based on your tattoo. 

One participant will randomly be selected to win a $50 Amazon gift card!

Submissions are accepted from Thursday, October 1st thru Thursday, October 15th. The winner and book suggestions will be announced on Friday, October 16th.
Rules:
1. Submissions must be family friendly and appropriate to share on the library's Facebook page. Entries depicting profanity, violence, nudity, etc. will be discarded.
2. Participants consent to having their photo posted on the Garland County Library's Facebook page.
3. To enter, submit your photo to pkagebein@gclibrary.com between Thursday, October 1st and Thursday, October 15th. Please include your name and phone number, as well as a description of your tattoo if it may not be immediately obvious what it is depicting.
