Drawing upon diaries, memoirs, oral histories, and fascinating historic photographs, Tom Dillard will introduce the audience to some amazing women from Arkansas history. Ranging from a female African-American caterer who was born in French colonial Arkansas to a pioneering woman aviator to a bawdy house madam—these women demonstrated immense courage and each had a determination to succeed at a time when the lives of women were so much more constrained than today. At least two of the featured women were residents of Garland County. Register for this program here.
