What is a Farrier?
A Farrier is a person who looks after equine (donkey and horses) feet.
Just like people's toenails, donkey hoofs are always growing, and they need to be trimmed.  That is where the Farrier comes in - he or she makes sure that a donkey's feet are healthy and trims their hoofs when needed.  Each donkey needs to have his or her hoofs trimmed every 6-10 weeks to stay healthy.  Donkeys have very small feet for such a large animal, so it is important that people who care for donkeys pay special attention to donkey foot care.  Below is a video of the Refuge Farrier trimming a donkey's hoof.
