Volunteering & Voluntary Sector Information
ITWB - Septembers VCG
Do you need help getting better information about your organisation from the data you are collecting?
Local business intelligence firm ITWB spoke with volunteer co-ordinators at the September quarterly meeting about the key data challenges facing charities and voluntary organisations. Game-changing products in reporting and analytics are now available to the smallest organisations with the tightest of budgets.

To give you an idea of how these tools translate to the voluntary sector, imagine what it would be like for your organisation if any of the following were readily available to you…
- All of the answers you need to complete funding applications
- Analysis of the patterns in volunteer recruitment and retention
- Analysis of the impact made by volunteers
- A list of volunteers whose DBS certificates are about to expire
- An automated way of processing data such as sign-up sheets from your web site
- Accessible answers across different devices, including mobile and the cloud

With 15 years’ experience of delivering these tools to large companies and small charities, ITWB is well placed to offer bespoke, lost cost systems that deliver measurable savings and efficiencies to your organisation. Here is what Cathy Laird, Welfare & IT Manager at local charity SCRATCH had to say about the Volunteer Management system developed for them this year by ITWB:

“The outcome has been extremely positive for the charity and a big step forward. We can get all the answers we need quickly, in a far better format than we could have ever previously achieved, and they’re available whenever and wherever we need them. When you consider how much time it used to take, this system has easily paid for itself within 6 months and delivers so much more than we had before.”

Volunteer Certificate Scheme - Nominations Still OPEN!

Please don't forget to get your nominations in for the scheme. It's a brilliant way to let your volunteers that the city appreciates them as well as your organisation. Perfect timing seeing as we have a retaining volunteers training session coming up. You now have until the 14th October to get your nominations in for the ceremony on the 10th November!
It doesn't cost you anything to put your volunteers forward - just a few forms to complete to tell us why they're amazing!

SVS Members Survey - Kindle Fire STILL to be won!

As SVS enters its next round of forward planning we’d like to get your views on the services we offer the sector; so we can offer you more of what’s useful, and less of what isn’t.  We’d also like to know how the current financial climate is affecting your capacity to offer services and manage volunteers.  Please help us to help you by completing our short survey monkey questionnaire.  It will only take 5 – 10 minutes of your time, but to us its invaluable!

As an incentive we are offering an Amazon Fire tablet to one lucky respondent, which we’ll draw from a hat at SVS AGM on October 7th.
