How Does Jesus Care for The Crushed?
By Elizabeth Allan
In Elizabeth Allan's fifth and final blog in the "Traveling in Grace and Truth Series" she discusses Milton Vincent's workshop, “Resurrecting a Shattered Faith” illustrated by Luke 24. In it he explained that the prodigal often asks, “Where was God when I suffered?” Click here to read, "How does Jesus Care for the Crushed?" and learn how you can respond to questions like this with love, grace and truth.
What's Happening at MCC

Sisters in Stitches is planning a workshop for young ladies who would like to practice their sewing skills and make their own apron! The workshop is Wednesday October 10th from 12:00 – 4:00 pm in the MCC Fellowship Hall. It's not essential that the girls have their own sewing machine, but a limited number of loaners are available, so please let us know if you will need a loaner. SIS will provide apron fabric kits pre-cut out and ready to start sewing. Please RSVP to Davra Clayton TODAY if you plan on coming!

The Food for the Hungry Bolivia Mission Trip is set for March 17-26, 2019. If you want to be part of the team, contact Jen Ward by October 7th to save your spot!
We are looking for a leader for our Prayer Chain Ministry. If you are interested, please contact the office.   Thank you!

Scott Walker is starting a daily prayer meeting 6:00 a.m. every weekday morning beginning Monday, October 1st. Please come and join him in the Fellowship Hall to hold up MCC and the ministries in constant, consistent prayer.

MCC's Wood Ministry is hosting a Wood Sponsorship Training October 20th from 9:00 a.m. -11:30 a.m.
We will highlight what it means to be a sponsor and how sponsorship changes lives. Please contact Don and Ann Moore to let them know you will be attending! Snacks will be provided.

Shine is changing the way we help our teachers with supplies at A. Montoya! Instead of doing a supply drive, we’ve created a wish list which we have posted on the Shine bulletin board downstairs in the Fellowship Hall. Take a tag if you want to purchase an item. Give your purchase to Ashley or Marcy who will deliver them to teachers! Please check the board periodically and give as you feel led!

The One to One Soul Care Conference will be held at MCC November 9-10. Are you interested in biblical counseling? Do you feel you want some training on how to walk with a brother or sister in their dark seasons? Please join us! You can register at http://centercitychurch.org/one-to-one or contact Elizabeth for more information.

Meet Emily Gray!

Emily Gray is part of the Closing Crew Sunday afternoons. She waits until everyone is done with Fellowship and locks up the church for us. At times, she has blessed us by taking part in leading worship through her violin playing, and she has graciously allowed us to take part in her journey in adopting little Ravi. Emily is part of the Wednesday Evening Fellowship Study, teaches Children's Sunday school regularly and attends either service. We are so grateful for Emily!

God has blessed MCC with brothers and sisters who love Him, reflect Him, and serve Him. Each week our "Meet MCC" category of the (L)ink highlights one person, picked randomly; who either attends, volunteers or works for the church. Check back weekly to learn about the amazing people who make up MCC!
