Feast Dates Right on Time!

The moon was first visible from Israel on September 26, 2014.

Our Creator's feasts are Right on Time! The final reports have come in and it's confirmed that the new moon was not visible in Israel until Friday September 26, 2014. The moon was seen by two groups of people through binoculars on Thursday September 25, but they were NOT able to see it with the naked eye. Sightings through binoculars don't count, but they do confirm that the moon was not visible to the naked eye on Thursday night Sep 25 from Israel! Based on the actual visibility of the new moon in Israel, the following are the final dates for the Biblical feasts this month:

  • Yom Teruah: Sunset Friday Sep 26 to sunset Saturday Sep 27.
  • Yom Kippur: Sunset Sunday Oct 5 to sunset Monday Oct 6.
  • Sukkot Day 1: Sunset Friday Oct 10 to sunset Saturday Oct 11.
  • Shemini Atzeret (8th of Assembly): Sunset Friday Oct 17 to sunset Saturday Oct 18.

On a different note, the Iron Dome speaking tour is coming-up, starting October 10. Keith Johnson and I will be speaking in Iowa, Colorado, Oregon, California, and... North Carolina. The event in Iowa requires advanced registration and the deadline for that has been extended until October 3 (call Melodie at 515-370-2214). For details of time and dates, please visit:

Update: Raleigh, North Carolina has just been added to the Iron Dome Tour for Nov 7-9! Details will be announced soon.
