October 2014

Hello to members, old and new! As you all know already, we're still going through a period of evolution at the Marine Life Society of South Australia- so much so that a September update from the committee passed us by. You may, however, have heard us in the media talking about acoustic pollution in Upper Spencer Gulf, or heard us at the most recent protest in opposition to WA's shark cull. Needless to say, we've been busy little bivalves.

There are some great events happening here in SA related to marine life and conservation in the next fortnight, so have a look at the list below and get ready for our next major public event- an art exhibition held in collaboration with the Save Our Gulfs Coalition. We're currently seeking submissions from artists responding to the theme 'Sand, Sea & Obscenity'. Full details below. Remember, if you'd like to bring a marine conservation issue to our attention, write an article or contribute images for the society's use or publication, our inbox is always open.
