Celebrating Trustees in Knowsley

Trustees Week officially runs from 2 – 8 November but here at KCVS we want to celebrate the dedication, skills and expertise that Trustees bring to local voluntary and community groups for the whole month and into 2016 too!

As well as highlighting the value of Trustees on our website and through local media and partners, we will be providing useful links and signposting resources to help trustees and encourage more people to take up these important roles.

We’d love to hear about your Trustees and the value they bring to your organisation.  If you are a Trustee please let us know why you enjoy supporting local community groups in this way.  We’ll feature your stories on our website as well as on our social media channels.  Just send a few paragraphs of copy to

We will also be highlighting the current volunteer trustee roles on line and with 2 open days on 3rd and 5th November.  So if you’ve been thinking about strengthening your board, now’s the time to let us have details of the skills you are looking for, you could have new recruits by the end of next week!  Contact

Our next Knowsley Connectors meeting (rescheduled from 4th to 24th November) will also be a celebration of the work of Trustees, so why not bring along one of your trustees too, 8.30 – 10.30 am at The Old School House, Huyton.  Register here.  We will be encouraging any one expressing an interest in being a Trustee go come along on that morning too.

Trustee Development and Training - March 2016

Looking forward to March next year, Knowsley CVS will be offering a short programme of Trustee Development and Training covering;
  • roles and responsibilities
  • good governance 
  • understanding finances
  • impact measurement.
We're considering offering these as a course of 4 bite-sized, hands-on, practical sessions, approximately 2 hours each in the early evening (or weekends if that is preferred) for 4 weeks throughout March 2016, with one session per week.  Each unit will be self-contained but joining in the full programme will of course be of greatest benefit.

There will be a small charge to cover costs of room hire, materials etc.

We want some feedback from you about the suggested format, subject headings and the best time to offer this training and an indication if this something your organisation is likely to take up, contact with your comments.
