Knowsley Foundation – Micro Enterprise Fund for Adult Social Care

The aim of this conditional grant fund, provided by the Knowsley Foundation, is to assist social enterprises, charities or community groups (“organisation”) to:-

• increase independence

• contribute to the local economic growth

• improve community resilience

• contribute to greater community collaboration and cohesion

The maximum size of the grant is £5,000. The Knowsley Foundation therefore anticipates that this fund will attract a wide range of grassroots organisations, which, in turn, will means that projects and activities will be considered no matter how large or small.

The fund will support organisations that are currently providing or wish to provide low cost preventative activities, projects and services for social care users, and/or alternatives to service led models for people with learning and other disabilities who are currently receiving care services.

Please note this is a conditional grant; it is not a loan or a traditional upfront grant. Approved funding will be on the basis of the applicant delivering their own fundraising and income generation activities and then ‘claiming’ their grant (or part of the grant) IF REQUIRED during a 12 month period e.g. There is a shortfall to deliver project/service. Once the grant is claimed there is no requirement that it is paid back.

The closing date is Wednesday 8th March at 5pm. To find out more, please visit the Community Foundation for Merseyside website.
