Bringing Beautiful Music to Audiences Everywhere
Dear Coro members and choir friends,

Only a few days now until our Shakespeare 400 concert on Sunday 17th July with only one rehearsal to go! A limited number of tickets are still available; click here for details how to get yours.

As I have written previously, the Shakespeare 400 concert is a fabulous opportunity to celebrate in a unique musical way, the legacy of arguably England's greatest playwright. The programme which our Music Director has selected is wide ranging, so something for everyone's tastes!

The 17th July concert will also include the finals of our inaugural Young Musician's Competition.  We have four extremely talented musicians - all with a Sussex connection - who will be performing on the night and the winner will receive a bursary from Coro Nuovo to help with their studies.

The concert is taking place at 7.30pm on Sunday 17th July in the Ascension Church, Vale Road, Haywards Heath and includes music across five centuries - ranging from Thomas Tallis to Leonard Bernstein.

As with our recent concerts this will be an audio visual experience, to show how the music ties in with Shakespeare's plays and sonnets.  The concert will also include some Shakespeare readings by member Vivienne Carlton and during the interval there is a small exhibition of Shakespearian character costumes sketched by choir member Jan White.

Tickets are £15.00 (standard) and £12.50 (concessions) and can be obtained by calling 07740 946276, emailing or online through

Susannah Moore, Lorna Collins and Richard Haslam (all Coro singers) gave a lunchtime recital at the beginning of June at the United Reformed Church in Lindfield.  A very responsive audience enjoyed listening to Lorna and Susannah sing some West Side Story, Ivor Novello and some opera pieces all accompanied by Richard Haslam.  What a great finisher – the Delibes Flower Duet!
There is a tide in the affairs of men, which taken at the flood, leads on to fortune. Omitted, all the voyage of their life is bound in shallows and in miseries. On such a full sea are we now afloat. And we must take the current when it serves, or lose our ventures -  William Shakespeare / Julius Caesar.
