Coro Nuovo at Christmas
We were delighted to support St Peter’s Church, Chailey's Christmas Tree Festival to raise funds for the church on Saturday 10th December.
Amid an array of twenty wonderfully decorated Christmas trees, Coro presented a programme of seasonal music, readings and poetry to a packed audience. And in line with our tradition of trying out new pieces, we sang the "Liverpool" folksy version of While Shepherds Watched, an upbeat version of Jingle Bells as well as the more traditional In Dulci Jubilo (Pearsall), O Magnum Mysterium by Morten Lauridsen and Bogoroditseye Dyevo by Rachmaninov.
Our musical director for this concert was John Sandford who stepped into the breach due to Andy Rees performing in Italy. Thank you John!
