We would like to invite you to join Team Making Changes for this year Scotiabank Charity Challenge. With the weather being so fantastic this winter, now is a great time for you to start your training!

You can sign up on your own or you can challenge anyone to join you whether they are fit or not. Have you considered asking your running buddies, your sport teammates, your work colleagues, your book club members or your active and coach potato friends to run or walk with you? This event is a great opportunity to spend a Sunday morning together while supporting Making Changes.

Registration is easy and to help get you started, we would like to offer $10 off your registration fee. To receive your discount promo code, email us at marathon@makingchangesassociation.ca and let us know you want to join Team Making Changes! If you are forming a team, each participant will be entitled to the discount.

International Women’s Day
Pledge for Parity

This International Women’s Day (IWD) is on March 8 and this year’s theme is Pledge for Parity. Making Changes will be celebrating by attending a few events in our community such as the Accenture IWD Breakfast and the 2016 IWD Community Fair at the Jack Signer Concert Hall.

Worldwide, women continue to contribute to social, economic, cultural and political achievement. However, progress towards gender parity has slowed in many places and the World Economic Forum now predicts that the gender gap will not be closed entirely until 2133.

Everyone can pledge to take a concrete step towards achieving gender parity more quickly, whether to help women and girls achieve their ambitions, call for gender-balanced leadership, respect and value difference, develop more inclusive and flexible cultures or root out workplace bias.

Making Changes is committed to helping women and girls by providing them with skills and resources to support their pursuit of meaningful work and educational opportunities.

To celebrate International Women’s Day, we encourage you to make your own pledge to take action for women’s parity by visiting http://www.internationalwomensday.com/Pledge.

Happy Women’s Day to all the women around the world!
