Tip of the month:

Give yourself a Permission Slip
This past year has been very different for all of us. Many of the things we've experienced were never expected, and it has affected all of us in different ways. While everybody wishes that they could still accomplish everything they did pre-pandemic, that's really not a realistic goal for most of us.
I was recently reminded of the idea of giving oneself a "Permission Slip". I thought I'd share it here in case anyone reading this feels like they need one. The good news is, you don't need to ask your parents for this one, you are an adult, so you can write it for yourself.
Holding ourselves to unreasonable standards all the time is not healthy, and sometimes we all need a break. If you need one, give it to yourself. You'll be glad you did.

What's New:

FEX Canadian Family Enterprise Forum
Please mark your calendars for this virtual event coming up April 20-21-22:
The pandemic put the kibosh on last year's FEX Symposium and it was deemed unrealistic for that to change in 2021, so they're going ahead with a virtual event this Spring.
More details will surely be forthcoming in the coming days and weeks.
If you know of a Canadian Family Business that you'd like to nominate for the Family Enterprise of the Year Award (FEYA), they are also accepting nominations now. Feel free to contact me to discuss.

Blog of the Month:

Regular readers know that I’ll often return to such staples as communication, governance, family meetings, harmony and working together.
