Tip of the month:

Connecting with Nature

I am writing this on the back deck of my cottage, my favourite place to be when I need to slow things down and get some rest and relaxation. I was doing a lot of remote work even before the rest of the world caught on thanks to Covid, and I'm now trying to spend even more time at my home away from home.

My satelilite internet is reliable enough for me to be able to take off for a week or two without having to take a week off. I was kayaking on the river this morning and saw a bald eagle flying overhead, and a deer prancing in the woods, not to mention my favourite bird, the diving belted kingfisher.

It doesn't have to be anything extravagant, but if you can get away and spend some time in nature, the fresh air and the fresh perspective can be just what the doctor ordered.

What's New:

PPI

From being alone in nature to another superspreader event...

Next week I am returning to Denver for the first time since 2019, as the annual RendezVous of the Purposeful Planning Institute is back on and in person again.

Talk about pent up demand! I've "met" so many great people at the RendeZooms of 2020 and 2021, I'm so looking forward to seeing people in the flesh once again.

This is an event I have not missed since I first discovered PPI in 2014, and I've looked forward to it every year, but especially this year.

The bonus is that I'm not even presenting so I just get to go and enjoy it.  OK, that's not 100% true since I will be introducing all of the FRED Talk speakers on Wednesday morning, but that will be a walk in the park.

I can't wait to see so many of you there!

Blog of the Month:

Chemistry Versus Geography in Advising Families

It’s amazing how fresh certain memories from over 40 years ago can seem when you allow yourself a trip down memory lane as you reflect back on your past.

The two main words that this week’s blog subject hang on, chemistry and geography, just happen to be two of the more memorable courses that I think about when I flash back to my days at St-Thomas High in the late 70’s and early 80’s.
