Tip of the month:
Graduation Season
As I make plans to attend the college graduation of the youngest of my offspring, my thoughts turn to such milestones and rituals as they relate to the area of family enterprises. Here's a question that comes up for me that I might ask the senior generation members of the families I serve:
Are there family members who've graduated to more responsibilities?
And if course I might ask the rising generation of these families the same question:
Are there some roles and activities that you feel you are ready to graduate towards?
And let's not forget that graduating to new roles and activities is not reserved for the younger family members, as the senior leaders need to make way for some of these upward moves from below, by graduating to their own next stages of life, whether within the business or outside.
What's New:
Here are the next couple of events on my travel calendar, I look forward to seeing many wonderful colleagues in Evanston and NYC in the coming weeks.
