Last month we announced that ONF and ON.Lab will merge to further accelerate the adoption of SDN. By combining with ON.Lab, we aim to accelerate SDN adoption, combine the best of standards and open source processes, and bring value to all members of our ecosystem. As we move toward the August 2017 completion date of our merger with ON.Lab, we will work as a single organization, while maintaining our individual nonprofit statuses.
This month we welcomed our new Vice President of Standards and Membership Timon Sloane, to the organization. Timon will lead the organization’s efforts in standards development, including work on OpenFlow; the ONF-Certified SDN Professional (OSCP) Program; and ONF member relations.
We’re excited for the future as we form a unique organization in the industry that will bring standards and open source together to charter the next phase of SDN.
For more insight on the merger, check out this Light Reading article and read Executive Director Guru Parulkar’s blog post, where he introduces himself to the community as he steps into his new role. Learn more about Timon’s appointment by viewing the full announcement.
