Professor Estrella Torrez awarded MSU 2023 Distinguished Partnership Award for Community-Engaged Creative Activity

Congratulations to Professor Estrella Torrez for earning the 2023 Distinguished Partnership Award for Community-Engaged Creative Activity for her work with the Lansing School District! This university-wide recognition is granted to those scholars and community partners for work that is highly engaged and positively impacts both the community and scholarship at MSU.

It's Free, Little, And Has Poems!

The Center for Poetry is excited to offer free poetry books from our new Little Free Poetry Library, located in the hallway in the RCAH Student Center (Snyder C220). These books are free for the taking; they are not part of our lending library. Take a book, leave a book...we just ask that any donations to it are poetry or "poetry adjacent," i.e. biographies about poets, books about writing poetry, etc.

CAPS Is Here To Help You Out

Everyone can use someone to talk to. Counselors from Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) are available weekly on Thursdays from 2:30-4:00 p.m. alternating weekly between in-person (Snyder C230H) and virtual appointments beginning on Thursday, September 15th virtually. Appointments are made in advance here. Please contact Pam Newsted or Scot Yoder if you need assistance or have any questions.

Making Memories With Macrame

RCAH juniors Ava Bennett (left), Grace Feather (second from left), Anna Ludlow (top right), and Maren Case (bottom right) spent their weekend tying and untangling decorate knots to make hanging plants at Seams Fabric in East Lansing. Thriving between bolts of fabric and skeins of yarn, this charming shop offered the perfectly relaxing craft for a group of stressed-out students. Next time you find yourself exploring the varieties of Grand River, be sure to stop by and support this colorful local business—you may even walk out with a creation of your own!
