2019 EUROTOX CONGRESS

Late poster abstract submission ends August 5

 

Late poster abstracts can now be submitted to the 2019 EUROTOX Helsinki Congress “Toxicology: Science Providing Solutions” taking place September 8-11, 2019.

Congress registration is required in order to submit late poster abstracts. Directly after successful online registration, you will receive an automatically generated e-mail that also contains the access code and the link for the abstract submission platform.

Deadline for late abstract submission: 5 August 2019

Make sure to see the general guidelines regarding the submission of late abstracts.

CONGRESS HIGHLIGHTS

HESI CITE LECTURE

Robert Barouki (Paris Descartes University, France) will be presenting the 2019 HESI CITE LECTURE: "Toxicology in the Era of the Exposome".

Prof. Barouki's research focus is on the study of dioxin receptor (AhR) in the fields of health and the environment. His clinical focus is on the identification of new metabolic biomarkers for rare diseases.

EUROTOX Gerhard Zbinden Award Early Career Award
(EUR 2,000) for drug-oriented toxicological research.


 


ECETOC Christa Hennes Award Early Career Award (EUR 2,000) for toxicological research into mechanisms and risk assessment.

The European Society of Toxicology In Vitro (
ESTIV)  Best Poster Award (EUR 500) for in vitro or in silico toxicology research.


 

ECOPA Award (EUR 500) for research on the 3Rs, and more specifically towards New Approach Methods (NAMs) without animal testing.



Awards will be presented onsite during the congress closing ceremony
September 11, from 14:00 to 14:30.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS JULY 31
EUROTOX'S Immunotoxicology and Chemical Allergy Speciality Section (ITCASS) is holding a scientific meeting September, 16-17, 2019 at the University of Milan (Sala Napoleonica) in Milan, Italy. Special guests include Giuseppe Nocentini and Marc Vocanson.

The event is free of charge and represents an important opportunity for young researchers to present their research in the field of immunotoxicology and immunopharmacology.

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN
The 34th Annual Scientific Meeting "EMERGENT EPIGENETIC THERAPIES" of the British Society of Toxicological Pathology (BSTP) held jointly with the British Toxicology Society (BTS)  is taking place November 19-20, 2019 at the Hilton Newcastle and Gateshead Hotel, Bottle Bank, Gateshead, UK.

Bursaries Available! Five free places will be available for PhD students/residents working in the field of toxicology or toxicologic pathology.  Applications to be submitted to the BSTP Secretariat for approval by a representative of the BSTP and BTS by August 30, 2019.

The Long-range Research Initiative (LRI) programme of the European Chemical Industry Council (Cefic)  is now accepting grant applications to carry out research in the different areas of chemical risk assessment and toxicity.

Survey into opinions on the studies outlined within ICH S7 guidance.

The ICH S7 guidance describes non-clinical safety pharmacology studies as core battery, follow-up or additional studies. The availability of new and evolving technologies, as well as a wish to streamline packages and animal use, has led to many organisations successfully implementing fit-for-purpose testing approaches (for small molecules, biologics and new modalities) which complement the established studies outlined within ICHS7A/B. In order to ascertain how the guidance is used and the relevance of individual studies to current drug development portfolios, the NC3Rs have generated a short survey to gather high-level information on the opinions of individual scientists into the scope for revisiting the guidance. The survey will be open until August 30, and the results of the survey will be presented at the Safety Pharmacology Society meeting in September 2019. If you design or run safety pharmacology studies, or use the data to make decisions on drug safety, please follow the link to fill in the online survey:
