1. ESP8 Conference South Africa, 9-15 November 2015
We continue to update the conference website with more information. As you may have seen we added the Theme of this year’s conference to the website which will be: “Ecosystem Services for Nature, People and Prosperity”. The Theme will be reflected in, among others, the Keynotes and Special Sessions which should address issues such as the debate on the contribution of ES to Conservation, the importance to people’s livelihood and the role of the business community. Suggestions for good keynote-speakers on these topics are very welcome an can be sent to Dolf de Groot.

2. Membership renewal
At the moment we are upgrading our membership administration system; as a result the membership renewals for January, February and March have not been sent out yet. The new administration system is expected to be up and running in April. Thank you for your patience.

3. IPBES
IPBES has two important calls:
- Call for experts: nomination for experts for several IPBES Assessments is now open until the end of March. On www.ipbes.net you can find the form and information needed to become a candidate for nomination. Then you need to contact the relevant person in your country or a stakeholder that can nominate you.
- Call for reviews: a call for comments on the guide for assessments, diverse conceptualization of values and on policy support tools and methodologies is open: Deadline: 31 March.

4. News from ESP Working Groups

- Working Groups who are planning to organise a session at the next ESP Conference should send in their ideas by April 1st (see Update item 1).
