Dear <<First Name>>
The General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) come into effect on Friday 25th May 2018. The GDPR means that CAMRA, as a company, must comply with stricter rules around protecting customer data or face a fine. This applies both on a National and Branch level.
CAMRA is, therefore, changing to give members more control of their data. As a member you will have the opportunity to tell the Campaign exactly what you want to hear about by easily updating your preferences online. This will mean less emails and letters about issues that aren't relevant to you and better, more streamlined communication in the areas that are of interest.
On 27th April you should have been contacted by CAMRA about these changes and invited to log onto the membership website to personalise and tailor it as you want. If you've not already done this please do so as soon as possible. Its easy; just sign into your account with your membership details at www.camra.org.uk and select 'Edit your Membership Information' to update your contact preferences.
The Richmond and Hounslow Branch of CAMRA will also be changing their membership communication methods. Currently, this newsletter comes to you via a third party database but, with effect from 25th May, we shall be using the CAMRA Comms Tool to produce and distribute it. All membership information on the old database will be deleted.
Please don't forget to update your preferences on www.camra.org.uk.
