[Please share the following news below with your congregation by copy/pasting it into your church's newsletter!]

We have lots of great news happening in your Association!  First, Rev. Anders and I visited the Church of South India in Dallas on Fathers' Day, a church with which we had lost contact with for almost ten years. It was great to reconnect, see the unique way this ethnic church worships, and share an an absolutely amazing meal!  It is our prayer that this church might rejoin the fellowship of the United Church of Christ.

Secondly, we enjoyed a beautiful weekend at the Camp Allen for our annual South Central Conference.  There we learned that the NTA's own Rev. Scott Spence (pastor of St. John UCC - Robinson), was recently named as one of 16 new Target 2030 clergy (clergy under the age of 35) by the Pension Boards!  This means he will participate in their very selective NGLI-Next Generation Leadership Initiative, a ten-year leadership development program of the UCC Pension Boards to provide leadership training, continuing education and opportunities for personal and professional growth as a local church UCC Pastor.  Congratulations Rev. Spence!

On July 6th, Masters' Workshop begins the summer camping season with their "Leaders of Tomorrow" camp.  Registration is up this year, and they have three fun filled camps planned for this summer.  For more information or to volunteer, check out their website at

Looking ahead, all are invited to Cosmopolitan UCC in Dallas as they dedicate their new building on Saturday August 30th -- more details to come.  And don't forget to mark your calendars for Saturday October 18th for our fall association meeting at First Congregational Church of Fort Worth!  See more information about our events on-line by visiting and liking our new Facebook page at

-- If you would like to share events or news with your brothers and sisters in the North Texas Association, please email the information to akhumble@gmail.  Going forward, I plan to email this news update on the 25th of each month so that each church has enough time to copy and paste the main body of the NTA news update into their church's monthly newsletter.  Please submit your news to me, therefore, by the 24th.

-- I also ask that each church to please add me to your mailing list and e-mail list!  My email and mailing address can be found in this email footer.
