We are writing with a friendly reminder to renew your SPA membership and to pay your dues. As of today, our records show that you have yet to do so.
The SPA Bylaws state:
"Memberships shall consist of individuals who are full or part-time residents, property owners, tenants, and/or spouses, partners and children of the foregoing who are located within one (1) kilometer of the municipal boundaries of the Village of Sturgeon Point as the same existed on July 31, 2000. All members shall be of voting age and have paid the annual membership dues as set by the Board of Directors from time-to-time."
Although SPA does secure some minimal funding from CoKL in the form of grants, the main source of funding is the membership dues. Without dues we are unable to maintain the Trust Lands and coordinate the annual events. Find out more about where your SPA membership dollars go. Payment of Membership dues also gives you the right to vote at the Annual General Meetings of the Association. Members will receive voting cards at the AGM. If you don't have a voting card, you don't have a vote.
A lot of our members renew at the annual Civic Weekend BBQ and the AGM and we will have a Membership table set up at both events for this purpose. The BBQ will take place on Saturday, July 30th at 6:00pm in the Park on Irene Avenue. The AGM is on Sunday, September 4th at 10:00am at the Sturgeon Point Union Church at 119 Irene Ave, Village of Sturgeon Point.
If you will not be attending either event, please take a moment now, while reading this email, to register or renew your existing membership.
Once you've registered, there are two easy payment options:
1. cheque payable to Sturgeon Point Association
2. e-transfer to firstname.lastname@example.org through your online banking
Cheques may be dropped off in the SPA mailbox at the Park or mailed to:
Sturgeon Point Association
Village of Sturgeon Point
84 Irene Avenue, RR3

Donations are also needed and appreciated!! Although we can't provide tax receipts at this time, donations are still integral to SPA being able to pay for all it does. We now have a donations page on our website that makes donating easy and you can be recognized on the website or remain anonymous.
The SPA Board and Sturgeon Point community thank you for your support!
If you are no longer connected to Sturgeon Point and wish to be removed from our membership database, please let us know.
