Recently in Research: Zachary Donoviel

Zachary in the labZachary is a senior majoring in Cellular and Molecular Biology who has been working in Dr. Wendy Hood Nutritional Ecology Lab for the past year and a half.

"Working in the Hood lab has been an amazing experience," said Zachary.  "I have been exposed to many new experiences, such as caring for wild mice and how to catch live bats with a mist net."

His first project in the Hood lab was studying the effects of protein diet on reproductive output in the house mouse, and now his fellowship project is looking at energetic trade-offs in metabolic processes between reproductive and non-reproductive female mice.

After graduating from Auburn, Zachary plans to focus on clinical research in endocrinology or rheumatology. "Thanks to the support of the Hood lab and Auburn University, I have had a great start to my academic career," said Zachary.
