First Call for Identification and Prioritization of Local Technologies in Africa.

ANDI and Partners are developing an open and interactive knowledge platform (database) of local health technologies in active development and/or those that are languishing in African laboratories due to various challenges.

This call aims at identifying local technologies and technology platforms that can be prioritized and promoted through the knowledge platform.

Project Based Training and Fellowship on Project and Intellectual Property (IP) Management.

Building on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) announced in November 2015 to support health innovation in Africa, ANDI and Emory University are organizing a training program on project and intellectual property (IP) management as well as technology transfer, licensing and business development.

This call aims at identifying suitable scientists or entrepreneurs or technology managers (Fellows) from African institutions with promising project opportunities to participate in a training workshop on the above subjects. The workshop is scheduled to take place at the end of July 2016 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

ANDI and EASE Medtrend Biotech Initiates the Implementation of Transformative Cell Phone Platform to Leap-Frog Disease Diagnosis in Africa.
ANDI and Chinese EASE-Medtrend Biotech have initiated the implementation of a cellphone based platform that can transform disease diagnosis at point of care in Africa.

The mission of ANDI (African Network for Drugs and Diagnostics Innovation) is to promote and sustain African-led health innovation to address the continent’s health needs through the assembly of collaborative networks, and building of capacity to support public health and development. ANDI focuses on addressing Africa’s health needs by harnessing the untapped power of collaboration among African researchers as well as equitable North-South and South-South partnerships, with the vision of creating a sustainable platform for health innovation in Africa.
