ANDI to Support the Ministry of Health of Guinea Bissau in Supply Chain Management

The Chairperson of the Board of the African Network for Drugs and Diagnostics Innovation (ANDI), Dr. Tshinko B. ILUNGA met with the Minister of Public Health of Guinea Bissau, Dr. Carlitos BARAI, to discuss strategic issues related to the proposed collaboration between ANDI and the said Ministry on health systems strengthening areas including immunization monitoring, tracking of the supply of health commodities and capacity building opportunities in the country. This collaboration relates to the use of ANDI’s Cellphone Platform to strengthen the health system in Guinea Bissau.

The Minister expressed his gratitude for ANDI’s interest to support the work of his ministry.  He said ‘ANDI proposal deserves a strong support since it brings an opportunity to strengthening the health system and increasing the delivery of curative and preventive services.’

ANDI Discusses Innovation for Supply Chain Management and Capacity Building in Africa

ANDI recently met with representatives from the Global Fund, WHO, DFID, Gates Foundation, and UNICEF to discuss ongoing activities in the area of supply chain management and sustainable capacity building in Africa.  The meeting welcomed the progress towards the piloting of ANDI’s Cellphone Platform and encouraged ANDI to put processes in place for scaling-up the technology.
