Thanks for being on our team.
Dear <<First Name>>
Thank you for being a part of “Team Stocks in the Future,” an extraordinary group of people who encompass dedication, servitude, generosity and support. Please meet three individuals who, like yourself, have a heart for SIF’s mission and whose efforts have added great value to our program.
Meet Renard. He is Stocks in the Future’s longest standing teacher. He has served SIF for over 15 years and had a previous career as an investment advisor. He brings firsthand stories about investing to his students. Anything from a brilliant high risk purchase to a foolish investment choice, his students respond with, “WOW! Really??” They literally sit on the edge of their seats capturing each word he shares from these scenarios. Along with teaching SIF, Renard serves on SIF committees and leads SIF Teacher Training sessions. Renard believes so strongly in our work that both his children are alumni of our program. He is truly one of the “gems” of SIF.
Your support helps provide bi-annual teacher training sessions where Renard can share his experiences with SIF rookie teachers. Thank you for making this happen!
Meet Logan. She is in her third and final year of the SIF program at Hamilton Elementary/Middle in Baltimore. She owns shares of Sirius XM & plans to trade them to purchase Coke and/or Disney someday. We recently sat down to interview her for our annual newsletter, SIF Exchange. She shared her dream to attend an Ivy League school and major in engineering. She also hopes for a high performing portfolio when it’s time to make the transfer after high school. Logan regularly follows the price trends of SIF stocks. How many middle schoolers do you know follow price trends on the stock market & for that matter, knows what a price trend is? We’re proud to say that hundreds of SIF students & program alumni are doing this today. Later this year, Logan will learn to go way beyond watching stock charts by following a company’s sales growth, profit margin, debt-to-equity ratio and dividends. What high hopes for the future!
Your donation sends students like Logan on field trips to meet and engage with finance professionals. Just last week, Logan’s class went to Towson University to work in the T. Rowe Price Finance Lab. Thanks to your continued support, we can develop impactful resources to use during these field trip experiences.
Meet Domonic. He is a SIF alumnus from Washington Jesuit Academy (WJA.) He participated in Stocks in the Future starting in 2009 during his 7th grade year. He is now making preparations to transfer his SIF stock portfolio as he’s reached 18 and recently graduated from high school. His portfolio is valued around $250. Just like SIF, Washington Jesuit Academy’s mission is to educate students from underserved communities. Several students from this middle school receive access to competitive high schools. Domonic graduated last year from the prestigious St. Albans School in DC. He now attends St. Johns University in NYC majoring in political science and economics. Stocks in the Future left a lasting impression which prompted him to reconnect to claim his portfolio. His plan is to invest his own money along with what’s been provided to him through SIF. How impressive!
Your contributions help offset the cost of investment portfolios for SIF Alumni, which makes investing REAL for these young adults! Thank you for gifting such a tangible and measurable impact!
As a member of "Team SIF", you’ve done a tremendous job helping Stocks in the Future advance in important areas of our work. You’ve ran or supported SIF’s charity team in the Baltimore Running Festival, served on a SIF committee or Board, presented to a SIF class, attended our annual March Market Madness benefit to raise funds and awareness of our unique and successful organization. We ask you once again to walk beside us as a team member and make a difference. Please answer this call for help and make your contribution today. We’re worth supporting!
Thank you for your continued help and friendship!
P.S. These stories echo throughout our latest issue of SIF Exchange. We invite you to take a look!
