Campers are coming!

Middler, Junior Youth, and Senior Youth

The time has come. It's July and we are just bursting at the seems with anticipation for all of our campers to join us for their weeks of camp. The Program Director, summer staff, deans, and counselors have been hard at work preparing their hearts, minds, and all their camp supplies for three awesome weeks of camp.

This summer we are having fun and learning so much from our curriculum, "Finding Your True Self in Jesus." We will spend time exploring our Bibles and our world looking at the many ways Jesus can challenge, change, or lead us. We are looking forward to all the fun that we have together in worship, study, games, and fellowship.

We can't wait for camp. Are all the campers you know signed up? Registration.

Though we are still waiting for our week-long camps, we have been having a lot of fun around here with Primary Overnight and Day Camp. We have been doing our best to get pictures and we have even produced some videos. Check out our pictures at We also have established a YouTube channel for our fun and videoed shenanigans. Check out our music videos and watch for videos such as a "packing how-to".
Songs of the Pines

Songs of the Pines is Camp Pine Lake's annual music festival. Songs of the Pines is a fun, family-friendly event full of music, storytelling, squaredancing, and pie. For 2014, Camp Pine Lake is proud to have Yurtfolk headline our gathering, on Aug 30 from 1 pm to 9 pm.

Along with fun and delight, Songs of the Pines is also an event meant to raise the awareness of camp for Northern Plains District and our surrounding community. It is also an opportunity to raise funds to support the programs of Camp Pine Lake.

Event admission is free. There will be an awesome evening meal available for purchase for $7. The highlight fundraising event is our pie auction and stories time after the evening meal. Come enjoy the music and stay for a chance to go home with a pie that supports the ministries of Camp Pine Lake!

Songs of the Pines is a separate, but partnering event with CPL's All Ages Camp. Come for part or all of Songs of the Pines, or stay for the whole weekend.

Commissioning of the Kirby Leland Memorial Trail

Please join us at Camp Pine Lake as we commission the Kirby Leland Memorial Trail. On August 30 at 1 pm, we will celebrate this new addition to the ministry resources at Camp Pine Lake and celebrate the legacy of our brother in ministry Kirby Leland, who passed in August of 2012. This celebration will be the kick-off event to Camp Pine Lake’s Songs of the Pines. In Kirby’s spirit of “the time for ministry is now”, we look forward to seeing you for the commissioning celebration. Please join us afterward for refreshments in Friendship Lodge. If you really want to make a day of it, hang out for the music, square-dancing, and pies of Songs of the Pines.
Director's Note

In the midst of this summer, I would invite you, whether you consider yourself a camper, a parent of a camper, or a friend of Camp Pine Lake, to take time to appreciate Creation. We are all blessed by our Creator with an amazing world for which we are called to care and from which we are blessed to receive care. It is my prayer that each of us would take moments throughout the adventures, boredom, or everyday-ness of our summers to recognize God's gifts within and around us, shown through or reflected in Creation.

Blessings in your summers,
