You only have until this Friday to get your nominations in for the 2016 Victorian Sport Awards. Ensure your sport is represented, and those that are deserving get recognised for their efforts and achievements.
With 19 categories from community through to elite, covering both young and experienced, the Victorian Sport Awards recognise athletes, coaches, officials, administrators, volunteers and organisations alike.
Game Changer: Female Facilities Community Campaign – Bayside City Council
Bayside City Council identified that the lack of existing facilities that support female participation was a significant issue for them.
With 27 sporting pavilions, 50 sports clubs, 1300 teams and 20,000 club members, only 80 per cent of Bayside’s pavilions predate 1960 and 96 per cent don’t have appropriate change facilities for women.
Mel Jones and Dylan Alcott Announced for Victorian Sport Awards
The Victorian Sport Awards is Vicsport's marquee event on the calendar. A marquee event needs superstar presenters, and that's what we have! We are proud to announce that former Australian Test and ODI cricketer and Channel 10 cricket commentator Mel Jones, and 3x Paralympic Gold Medallist and Triple J radio host Dylan Alcott OAM will be presenting at the 2016 Victorian Sport Awards. With their wealth of experience, we are excited to see Jones and Alcott in action on 30 March, 2017.

Barriers and Facilitators to Participation in Organised Physical Activity Survey
Parents, guardians, coaches and children are invited to take part in a study to explore the benefits and barriers to participation in organised physical activity programs around Australia for children with physical and developmental disabilities and challenges. Parents of children with disabilities, developmental challenges, or additional needs aged between 4 -17 years are encouraged to participate in this study.

2017 High Performance for Community Sport Conference 11 & 12 February, 2017
High Performance for Community Sport is a two-day conference that has been designed to give community sport an insight into the latest trends and techniques available in elite sport and provide practical ways that these techniques can be adapted for use in local sporting teams and leagues.

Researchers from La Trobe University Law School are working in partnership with Vicsport to find out more about how community sports administrators identify and manage health and safety risks in community sport.
