Beef Share Packs
And Beef Steak Hacks
I know some of you have been hankering to fill your freezers with a quarter, half, or even whole share of Spray Creek beef.  Unfortunately, we still don't have the volume to make this happen (maybe next year?), but there are now two ways to buy beef in bulk and save.  I have just added a 'Beef Share' Pasture Pack to the online shop, and the bulk deal on ground beef is still available.  The Beef Share pack is larger than our other pasture packs - $330 value for $300, and includes 7 types of steaks, 2 roasts, ground beef, stew meat, and minute steaks!  The bulk ground beef is from a neighbouring family ranch (the only thing in our shop not grown on our farm), and it's $220 for 28-30 pounds of 100% grass-fed and antibiotic-free ground beef (in 1 lb. packs).  That's over 15% off retail!  Look for both deals in the 'Pasture Pack' section of our online shop.

What's going on between barbeques? Hay makin' (here T&T are checking the moisture in a bale), more hay makin' (we're finally finished!), turkey grazin' (taking orders for Thanksgiving soon!), and abattoir buildin' (more on this exciting new development in a future newsletter!).

Love bacon? Love cooking with healthy, organic, local fats?  We've got a new product just for you: Jowel bacon in slabs!  Slice to your desired thickness and cook as you would breakfast bacon, cube and use as a base for any vegetable dish, or use instead of salt pork for the very best baked beans!  For my current favourite summer dish: cut a section of jowel into strips, fry gently until most of the fat is rendered, add lots of zucchini and fennel, cook in the rendered fat until soft, add sliced cherry tomatoes, diced garlic, and fresh basil, turn off the heat, and serve over polenta, pasta, or toast.
