As churches are making changes to how they receive financial contributions during the COVID-19 crisis, the District Office has also set up other methods for receiving the District Tithe to better assist churches. We trust this information will be helpful to Boards and Treasurers.
The preferred method for churches to send tithes is by cheque mailed to the District Office. However, below are three options for electronic giving.
ELECTRONIC FUNDS TRANSFER (EFT)
An EFT allows your church to send funds directly to the district’s bank account while maintaining the proper approval process. As one person prepares the payment, you can establish that it takes one or two signing authorities to sign on to approve the payment. Check with your bank to set this up.
We do not recommend E-transfers from a church’s bank account unless the church is using a banking platform that provides two-factor authentication, i.e. one person alone cannot “push” money out of the account. If your church is set up for two-factor authentication, please email Sylvia at firstname.lastname@example.org or Dorothy at email@example.com for further discussion on submitting your District tithe by E-transfers.
You can send church tithes to the district by credit card through CanadaHelps. Simply go to “Giving” on the District Website. Be sure to select “Corporate/Group” as the Donor Type. There is an option to give to Church Tithes. The church will receive a receipt for the donation, for filing with your church records.

If you have any questions or need more information, please email Sylvia or Dorothy.
