ADVANCING EXCELLENCE 


FIVE NEW GRANTS AWARDED

In addition to the grants awarded in the past, five new grants were funded in the fall of 2016, which provide diverse educational opportunities to Ladue School District students: Arianna String Quartet, Eclipse Eyewear, Google Expeditions, Mini PCR Beta Test and Refurbishment of French Horns.

Mini PCR Beta Test
LHWHS teacher Monica Bowman was awarded a Ladue Education Foundation grant for her innovative proposal. Students will use field-grade biotech equipment to work on the Plant DNA Barcode Project within the Deer Creek Watershed to help us better manage and maintain our floodplain with additional future work projected in other areas once our LHWHS greenhouse is built. Julie Lythcott-Haims, author of How to Raise an Adult will speak at John Burroughs School in this event co-sponsored by the LEF, LHWHSPA, LMSPA, Priory, Whitfield & JBS. The book is a rallying cry for those who wish to ensure that the next generation can take charge of their own lives with competence & confidence. Read more...

'DUE BIZ PARTNERS SUPPORT LEF

The 'Due Biz program, a partnership initiative that enables local businesses to receive ongoing visibility and exposure to the Ladue School District community through our social media, publications, and major event promotions, is now in its second year. This year saw the renewed membership of Carol House Furniture, as well as the addition of Hoopla Jewelry and Vanguard Heights.

LHWHS RECOGNIZES ST. LOUIS 
DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI

The Ladue Horton Watkins High School (LHWHS) Distinguished Alumni Committee, in conjunction with the Ladue Education Foundation (LEF), has selected 17 recipients of the first award to recognize and honor alumni who have made significant contributions to the St. Louis community in their fields.
 
Called Ladue Local Heroes, all of the honorees listed below are Ladue School District alumni who graduated between 1952-2007 (the years of current eligibility), and are recognized as St. Louis leaders in business, athletics, volunteer activities, education, philanthropy, law, media, and the arts.
