Season of Recalls!

 

Following the example of active citizens in Kogi State, active citizens in Niger, Kaduna, Ondo and Ebonyi States are exploring the recall process for their lawmakers due to a loss of confidence in their abilities to represent their interests in the National Assembly.

The constitution provides for the recall of a non-performing legislator but there has been no successful attempt since our return to democracy in 1999.

Class Action Updates: Judgement Day

 


1. Are you an unmetered customer of Eko and Ikeja Electricity Distribution Companies having inflated estimates billing?

The suit comes up for hearing on Friday, July 14, 2017.

2. On Wednesday, September 14, 2016 a Lagos-based consumer rights lawyer, Olumide Babalola, filed a class action suit at the Lagos High Court for himself and on behalf of all the subscribers of the GSM operators who might have received the unsolicited calls and messages from the telecommunication companies in Nigeria.

Judgement has been reserved for Wednesday, October 4, 2017.

Active Citizens Advocating for #BringBackOurGirls

 

Last week, the Lagos family of the #BringBackOurGirls movement continued to agitate for the rescue of the 113 remaining Chibok girls, the 6 Lagos Epe school boys & other abductees.

Chibok Girls:
            276 abducted.
            57 escaped. 
            3 found. 
            103 released. 
            5 infants with our girls.
            19 parents dead.             
            We are still missing 113!
