Solidarity Visit to Amnesty International

EiE joined other civil society organizations (CSOs) for a solidarity visit to Amnesty international (AI) on Wedneday, March 29th. The procession started from the Unity Fountain to the AI Office in Maitama, Abuja. Protesters under the aegis of Global Peace & Life Rescue Initiative had earlier stormed AI office on Monday, March 20th giving it a 24–hour ultimatum to leave the country. This was later changed to a ‘5–day occupy Amnesty International protest’. The protesters claimed that AI was deliberately indicting the Nigerian Army of unprofessional practice in Nigeria, especially, North-East.

Thousands Displaced in Otodo Gbame by Lagos State Government

In the course of the week, EiE and other civil society organisations (CSOs) met to discuss strategies to engage the government and also call the attention of international bodies to the issue.
